Our culture is mostly sedentary, but it should recognize the nomadic culture

The internet revived
nomadism

Sedentary cultures believe in permanent residences, while nomadic cultures believe in free travel. Early people were mostly nomadic hunters. As civilization developed, it gradually became more settled, as people started building shelters to live permanently. Shelters gave protection against predatory animals and harsh weather. A disadvantage is that some sedentary cultures threatened nomadic cultures. As a result, the younger generation of people of nomadic blood gradually lost skills once practiced by their ancestors. Some sedentary people, being concerned with their nomadic counterparts, started to raise awareness about the latter.

The Internet gave rise to the so-called digital nomads, people who enjoy traveling habitually as long as their computers have a working Internet connection. Sometimes, the Internet is their only source of income. Digital nomads are the nomads of the modern time. Compared to other nomads, digital nomads may still have permanent residences, they just prefer to travel. Due to the Internet, anyone belonging to sedentary culture may start a nomadic lifestyle.

Today, our culture is mostly sedentary but it should respect and recognize nomadic culture. Governments run by sedentary people should do the same. Nomadic people enjoy the actual freedom. They are civilization’s natural athletes. Because they are exposed to more bacteria, predatory animals and wild weather, their bodies are probably mightier than our sedentary bodies. Nomadic people can see true colors our sedentary eyes can’t see at all.
